TUOMEY RECEIVES TOP PUBLIC RELATIONS HONORS

SUMTER, SC — Tuomey Healthcare System received top honors at the 2009 Wallie Awards, held recently in Asheville, North Carolina.  Hosted by the Carolinas Healthcare PR & Marketing Society (CHPRMS), the awards event each year recognizes the best healthcare communications work in North and South Carolina.

Tuomey won three Gold Wallie Awards in the annual contest.  Tuomey’s LifeTimes magazine, The Tuomey Foundation’s Annual Report and the hospital’s new website all took top honors in their respective categories.  Tuomey PR Director Brenda Chase serves as the editor for both the magazine and the annual report, and the website was created by Cyberwoven.

Also honored was PR Specialist Traci Quinn, who brought home a Silver Wallie for an article she wrote for The Item’s Health Guide.

The Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society, also known as CHPRMS, provides resources for nearly 250 members working in the healthcare industry. The majority of members represent healthcare organizations and businesses that focus on healthcare throughout the states of North and South Carolina.

Since 1973, CHPRMS has grown to become one of the largest affiliated societies in the country. Each year membership grows and the society’s leaders continue to identify innovative and creative ways to share ideas, strategies and to champion excellence within the field of healthcare communications.
